---------------- 1991 Fourth Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Report February 5, 1992 >' Western Stone Products, Tracy, California W0195 sample labeled MW-1D was also submitted for laboratory analysis. No analytes were detected in the blank. In correspondence dated November 22, 1991, San Joaquin County Public Health Services requested information regarding disposal of water purged from the monitoring wells on site. Approximately 100 gallons of water produced during the development of monitoring well MW4 on May 22, 1990, were shipped under manifest to Refineries Service in Patterson, CA for recycling. A copy of the manifest is included in Attachment 1. All remaining purge water on site contains petroleum hydrocarbon constituents below state MCLs. This water will be discharged to the surface. It is intention of Western Stone Products, Inc to discontinue monitoring and sampling at the site and to apply for monitoring well abandonment. Western Stone expects that concurrently with the granting of county well abandonment permits, San Joaquin County would also expressly recommend case closure. However, should well abandonment permits be denied, in this circumstance Western Stone would have no alternative but to request that San Joaquin County show cause and defend denial of case closure. It is hoped, however, that San Joaquin County will recognize Western Stone's efforts in this regard, and would look favorably on their application for well abandonment and case closure.
