GEO-PHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
REPORT ADDENDUM
Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study
OAK FARM WINERY, 23627 N. DEVRIES RD., LODI, CA
(APN 003-140-03)
(PA-1200192)
GPE Project No.670.1 C
November 6,2013
7.1 Input Data to the Model
According to Rosen, et. al., (2006), the nitrate concentration of septic tank eluent is variable,
but the average is about 44 mg/L for residential use. For non-residential systems, the nitrate
concentration is generally greater due to a lower usage of non-sewage water uses, such as
washing. In buildings where the wastewater consists mostly of sewage, up to 80 mg/L of
nitrate may be present.
The following table summarizes the nitrate concentrations from the several sources expected
to be present as used in the original report.
System Effluent Nitrate
Cone. N.
Employees 60 m
Tasting Room Visitors SOm
Marketing Mtg Attendees 80 m
For the purposes of this recalculation, all of these sources are assumed to have a nitrate load
concentration of 80 mg/L.
Flow Rates
As described in Section 3.3 of the original report, the average daily flow rates of each septic
system on the site were estimated. These estimates remain unchanged as summarized in this
table:
2937 Venemm Ave.,#6240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc. Phone: (209)569-0293
Modesto,CA 95356 Fax: (209)569-0295
