,Soil Suitability Study';Diamond Crest Estates Subdivision,Parcel I =43.I0 Net Acres,With Access Off
Of A Dirt Road Off Of Kasson Road,APN: 255-34-07
The rate of water intake for the soil is 0.1 inches per hour. The general use for this
soil is for irrigated crops and a few homes.
i Some problems that are associated with development of the property are(1) slow
permeability, (2)high shrink-swell potential, (3)high water table and (4) low strength.
h
r No water was encountered in excavating the Percolation or Soil Profile test holes
on the subject parcel to a maximum depth of 10'00". Refer to the attached"Field,
Percolation Data Sheet", and"Parcel Map"as well as the text of this report for the
specific soil layer characters encountered as well as and test hole location details.
SEPTIC SYSTEM ANALYSIS: San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division septic permit applications were reviewed. Six(6)permit
`applications were reviewed in the general area of the subject property. Five were on
Kasson Road, one was on Airport Way and none were reviewed on Durham Ferry Road,
nor was any found for the subject property of this report. .
All six(6) of the permits were for leach field installations with leach lines varying
in number from one(1)to four(4) and from sixty(60) feet to one hundred(100) feet in
length. One(1) of the six(6)permits reviewed contained an initial inspection note that
` there might be a possible future failure of the system..Another permit of the
six(6)indicated that the system was indeed replaced six(6)years and five (5)months
later. The permits reviewed were dated from November 17, 1972 to January 29, 1991.
PERCOLATION TEST: Only one (1)parcel is covered in this report and was the only90r5t,
reported hp on. The parcel covered and reported on is
Parcel 1 and is shown on the attached"Parcel Ma rA
one requested and contracted to be ep p 1 bN[
" and the "Diamond Crest Estates
Subdivision Map".
On Tuesday,March 19, 2002, a Percolation Test Hole identified as PH IC was
excavated to a depth of 35 112" and a Soil Profile Test Hole was excavated on
Wednesday to a maximum depth of ten 10'00" as noted on the attached"Field
Percolation Data Sheet". The location of these test holes are depicted on the attached
"Parcel Map". The Percolation Test Hole was presoaked on Tuesday,March 19, 2002
and the percolation readings were made and the percolation rate determined on
Wednesday,March 20, 2002.
Also two other preliminary excavations were made at site locations PH 1A and
PH 1B shown on the attached"Parcel Map". However, these sites were not fully
excavated to conform to County established test requirements due to the density and
hardness of the soil being excavated and the high amount of clay present in the soil
indicated by theability to mold the soil in one's hand. It was not until the third site
selection that soil suitable to fully test was encountered.
f
Lisa Ward, 1034 Central Ave.,Tracy,California 95376—3915,(800)836-1404, (209)836-1404
d
f
