These lots have designated leach fields and well sites. Leach fields are
located as to where passing perc tests were approved. Some parcels may not allow a second dwelling unit,
as there may not be enough area for leach field.
i The installation of septic systems must be under permit, inspection, and approval by this Department.
Systems must consist of a septic tank; leach field and seepage pits sized at the time of construction
according to San Joaquin County standards. The permit fee is $320.00. Based on the percolation test,
r leach lines with pits will be required on the individual parcels at the time of development.
The installation of water wells and pumps must be under application, permit, and inspection and approved
by this Department. Wells are to have a minimum 100-foot grout seal and be installed according to San
Joaquin County standards. The permit fee is$275.00.
The water in the general vicinity has been found to be bacteriologically potable;however, chemical quality
has not been determined other than a nitrate, which were found to be within state standards for public
drinking water. However, there are no state regulations that apply public drinking water standards to
private wells.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Mike Huggins, of my staff at (209)
468-3437.
Donna Heran,R.E.H.S.,Director
Environmental Health Department
Mike Huggins,Supervising R.E.H.S.,R.D.I.
Environmental Health Department
r
f
i
