Based upon the number of employees given in the application, this water <br /> system will be classified as a noncommunity, nontransient water system <br /> according to State regulations and will require an annual permit to operate <br /> from this Division. The existing well shall meet California Code of ; <br /> Regulations, Title 22, drinking water standards. Construction of a new source <br /> shall require an Environmental Health Division permit and inspection (San <br /> Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-11153). <br /> b. The well must be repaired under permit and inspection by the Environmental <br /> Health Division(San Joaquin County Development Title Section 9-1115.4(e)) <br /> as follows: ^C. <br /> a. Agricultural discharge pipes utilizing an air gap for backflow <br /> prevention shall maintain an air gap equal to the size of the discharge <br /> pipe, but not less than b inches_ The discharge pipe shall also have <br /> two '/4 inch slits extending 6 inches from the bottom of the pipe and <br /> opposite each other or a backflow device approved by San Joaquin <br /> County must be installed. <br /> b. Install sanitary seal. <br /> c. Install cement surface seal around well casing to sufficiently protect <br /> well casing the integrity of well grout. <br /> d. Raise well casing 12 inches above ground level. <br /> e. Provide sample tap prior to pressure tank. <br /> f. Properly seal drop pipe into the well by providing a threaded steel cap <br /> or similar device. <br /> 7. Destruction or proper sealing the abandoned well(s)under permit and <br /> inspection by the Environmental Health Division is required if the well does <br /> not meet Title 22 drinking water standards. (San Joaquin County ' <br /> Development Title Section 9-1115.5(e)) <br /> 8. Submit application for a hazardous waste permit to the Environmental Health <br /> Division. <br /> (ORD/EHD) j <br /> 9. If floor drains are required, they must be plumbed through a sand/oiI separator <br /> and discharged to an above ground system approved by the Environmental <br /> Health Division. This system must be designed by a registered engineer. The <br /> II material collected in the above ground holding system must be analyzed for <br /> hazardous constituents prior to disposal. Specific test requirements may be <br /> ��J <br />
