January 16,2004
Job Number:LG03-304
Page 6
4.2 On-Site Ground Water
One water well is located near the southeast portion of the property. On November 4, 2003
during.the drilling of the percolation test hole, the water well was not operating, According the
Site plan, this well is planned to-be abandoned. A new water.well to serve the needs of the
facility is proposed and should be placed,100 feet from any onsite or neighboring septic system.
It appears that the area adjacent to Eleventh Street is most suitable. 'One possible location is
indicated on Plate 1.
. On Site drillirig conducted on November 4, 2003 indicated the Aqpth to groundwater was 9.2 feet
below the ground.-Surface.
4.3 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
Beyond the septic and water well permit search confere
ed at the Environmental Health.
Department,no environmental records or databases
accessed for the Site or surrounding
area. It is unknown weather any underground storage tanks exist on the Site. Other than asphalt
patches, there were no visible signs of tanks.or potential ground water contamination sources.,
The use of a conventional onsite septic system should be considered as a potential ground water
contamination source-
4.4 Water Sample Location
Water samples from a water well were collected ine theected and tested for Nitrate-and DBCP. The water
quality from the well was_tested to determwaterquality of the aquifer from which that
-Well draws drinking water..
An attempt was made to start the onsite water well located at,7618 West.Eleventh Street. After
several attempts with the assistance of the owner;the well failed to start.- Therefore a ground
water sample was collected next door(dust west) at 7650 West Eleventh Street(posted address as '
7360 West.Eleventh) on December 29, 2003.
