The soil appears to be fairly consistent to the_depth of 9.5 feet. <br /> 6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION <br /> R 6:1 Percolation Test Boring Locations <br /> ° One shallow,percolation test was conducted on November 18, 2003,within the proposed sewage- <br /> disposal area. The location of the percalation'test is iindicated.on the Site Plan (Plate 1). - <br /> 6.2 Boring Preparation and Speeifications <br /> The shallow boring was,advanced to 3':0 feet"in depth.` The deep soil profile bori was drilled <br /> using a thick-mounted Deep Rock auger rig on November 4 2003. The shallow percolation test <br /> boring was drilled utilizing a 4-inch hand auger tool on the same day. <br /> A 2-inch diameter PVC pipe,with perforations on the bottom was used to,measure the drop of <br /> water in"the percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of"pea gravel"were placed in.the. <br /> bottom of the-boring, then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel.. Several feet of"pea- . <br /> gravel"were backfilled in the annular space. <br /> '6.3 Presaturation of Boring <br /> Presaturation of theercolation test hole occurred on November 17 2003. .The depth p p h of water <br /> used to pre=soak was 12 inches above the bottom of the boring.. After the pre=soak period, the <br /> . presaturated hole was found to be intact and dry on November 18, 2003. <br /> 6A Percolation Test Procedure and.Results <br /> A four hour percolation test was•conducted on November 18, 2003 in accordance with the - " <br /> requirements of San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division. The four hour.percolation <br /> test was observed by Michael Escotto,"REHS, of that office.; <br /> Measurement of the water.level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on <br />.� the PVC-casing using an electric well sounder with an"depth accuracy of.1/100th foot. All values <br /> on the field data sheet(appendix) are in decimal feet. After water drop was observed, the holes <br /> were checked for proper height. The refill level is 6 inches of water above the bottom level of <br /> t the percolation test hole. The readings were taken approximately every 30 minutes for.the four <br /> hour.duration test. <br />
