Construction <br /> The separator shall be rectangular and constructed of(7 gauge or 10 gauge) carbon steel for <br /> installation above grade or in a vault. (The SOLO-10 is constructed of 1/4" thick carbon steel <br /> and is designed for shallow burial, installations above grade or in a vault). <br /> Separator shall be externally coated in the factory with machine enamel or epoxy. Follow <br /> coating manufacturer's recommendations for sandblast and coating thickness. <br /> • (Optional)-- Provide a factory applied interior coating that is compatible with the <br /> hydrocarbon and water characteristics specified above. Follow coating manufacturer's <br /> recommendations for sandblast and coating thickness. <br /> The inlet pipe shall be a — inch N.P.T. half-coupling or_inch 150 lb. flat faced flange <br /> connection. An inlet flow diffusing nozzle shall be installed at the inlet end of the separator, <br /> located at the furthest diagonal point distant from the outlet. <br /> Influent flow shall be directed on a single corrugated plate to reduce the flow velocity and <br /> spread the flow out over the cross sectional area of the separator. <br /> A second series of corrugated parallel plates shall be downstream of the first and set at a 300 <br /> angle(45° angle for SOLO-10). The steel corrugated parallel plates shall be individually <br /> removable from the steel plate pack housing. Plate pack shall be as close to the inlet pipe as <br /> possible to effect coalescence of the oil particles as soon as possible. <br /> The discharge pipe shall be installed at the outlet end of the separator, located at the furthest <br /> diagonal point distant from the inlet. The outlet pipe shall be a_ inch N.P.T. half- <br /> coupling or_ inch 150 Ib. flat faced flange connection. <br /> • (Model CO& PCO) —The separator shall be furnished with two 3" clean-outs for oil <br /> and sludge removal. The entire separator cover shall be removable and include gasket <br /> and bolts. A separate access cover shall be provided for removal of oleophilic <br /> coalescer or the addition of an oleophilic coalescer in the future. <br /> • (Model SOLO-10) —The separator shall be furnished with a removable gasketed <br /> cover equipped with quick release latches for inspection and maintenance. <br /> Separator shall be furnished with fittings for vent, waste oil removal and gauge.
