• INTRODUCTION
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Roopa Delapena to
conduct a Nitrate Loading Study for her property located at 3876 East Emerson Road,
Acampo, California. Ms. Delapena has indicated that she plans to place a four-
bedroom home on the property; the Site is currently vacant.
Because of concerns of nitrate leaching into ground water from septic systems, a nitrate
loading analysis was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department for approval of the proposed development. The study estimates the
potential concentration of percolating effluent produced by the proposed project over the
long term. Where percolating effluent leaches into the ground, ground-water quality
may be impacted to some degree should the effluent reach the aquifer.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Nitrate
Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 005-145-23. The parcel is 0.5
acres in size, and is located at 3876 East Emerson Road, Acampo, California (Plate 1).
• The Site is currently vacant (Plate 2).
Ms. Delapena indicated that a new four-bedroom home will be placed on the Site; a new
septic system will be installed to serve the home.
• LOGE 1821 Page 1
