• Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2017), the Site has been used for agriculture, primarily rice, since 1952 or
earlier. The house on the Site was built approximately 10 years ago, the Quonset but
was built in the 1990s, and the rice dryer was built in the 1
ry 950s, according to interviews
conducted for that report.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
One septic system is currently located on the Site to serve the house.
Proposed Septic System
No new construction is planned.
On-Site Septic Permit History
Live Oak searched the septic system permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department; one septic permit was identified for the Site
addresses.
• October 2007 permit for new residential septic system. The system utilized a
1,600-gallon septic tank, two 60-foot leach lines, and three 36-inch diameter by
25-foot deep seepage pits (26050).
This permit is included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems located within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Aerial
imagery from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph was
assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 25 or more
septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of orchards, agricultural land, and rural residences. Several
cattle facilities are in the area as well, including two within one-third of a mile of the Site.
•
LOGE 1834 Page 2
