Analysis v <br /> Update on the General Plan Process <br /> Since the last Planning Commission Study Session on August 6, 2009, the second round of Community <br /> Workshops were held in fourteen sites throughout the County from August 10 through September 23, 2009. <br /> These workshops were held to obtain input from the public on their ideal vision and core principles for the County. <br /> d Vision Statement <br /> Guiding Principles an _ _ <br /> The purpose of this study session is to present the results of the second round of Community Workshops, <br /> summarize the Draft Vision and Guiding Principles, and solicit further input and recommendations from <br /> k the Commission regarding the Draft Vision and Guiding Principles. The Draft Vision and Guiding Principles <br /> were developed using information obtained during the first four phases of the Update process and input <br /> from the Community Workshops. Attached are the Summary of Community Workshop#2, and the Draft <br /> Vision and Guiding Principles. <br /> The Vision and Guiding Principles will be used to shape the future of San Joaquin County, The Vision <br /> represents the ideal future for San Joaquin County in 2030. It paints a picture of what the County will <br /> strive to be over the next 20 years. The Guiding Principles represent the County's core values. They <br /> establish benchmarks for the General Plan goals and policies. <br /> The Vision and Guiding Principles will be used to develop and select a Preferred Land Use Alternative <br /> and prepare and refine General Plan goals and policies. Upon adoption of the General Plan, the Vision <br /> and Guiding Principles will become part of the General Plan and be used by the Planning Commission <br /> and Board of Supervisors to plan and make decisions. <br /> Agenda <br /> This is the agenda for the Planning Commission General Plan Update study session: <br /> 1.
