<br /> The EHD staff has discussed with your engineer, Mike Smith, the possibility that the storm pond
<br /> could be located in the northwest corner of the property, the sewage disposal area located south
<br /> of the storm pond, and the proposed expansion area for sewage disposal located south of the
<br /> sewage area. If this is done, it may be possible to meet the set back requirements for placement
<br /> of a public well.
<br /> Prior to approval of a well on this property, Sanguinetti Investments, LLC, must submit a signed
<br /> agreement to the EHD that stipulates that as soon as the Farmington Water Company has a
<br /> reliable source of potable water that meets the quantity and quality standards of the California
<br /> Safe Drinking Water Act, the above referenced property will be connected to the Farmington
<br /> Water Company Public Water System, and the well installed on the above referenced property
<br /> will be destroyed under permit and inspection of the EHD.
<br /> For your information, the following water quality testing of the well is required to be completed
<br /> prior to EHD approval of the well as a water source for a public water system. Water samples
<br /> must be collected from the well by State certified laboratory personnel, and testing of the water
<br /> must be performed in a state approved laboratory facility. Periodic monitoring requirements are
<br /> I
<br /> also indicated.
<br /> a. Inor anic Chemicals: Fluoride is due at least once (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432
<br /> b. Secondary(aesthetics): Bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide alkalinity, calcium, iron,
<br /> magnesium, manganese, pH, sodium, and total hardness are due at least once (California
<br /> Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Section 64449).
<br /> c. Nitrates: Required annually. Sampling shall be quarterly if the results exceed %of the
<br /> Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 45mg/L (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432 (a)).
<br /> d. Nitrites: Required once every three years (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432 (a)).
<br /> e. Bacteriological: At least two consecutive bacteriological samples must be collected from the
<br /> well head that are Total Coliform Absent and Fecal Absent. The tests shall be taken and
<br /> reported within a-seven-day period and in no case be completed more than twenty-eight 28
<br /> daVs prior to use of the well. The water samples collected for the presence of bacteria shall
<br /> be tested for chlorine residuals and documented on the bacteriological lab results. The
<br /> chlorine residual must be less than 0.05 plarn in order for the bacteriological result to be
<br /> accepted. Routine bacteriological samples will then be required once each calendar month
<br /> from the distribution system at the Routine sample site, as identified on the Sample Site Plan.
<br /> In addition, please be advised that the fee for a new TNCWS permit application is $588, and the
<br /> annual operation permit fee is $451.
