NOOK v <br /> Both percolation tests were performed in 8 inch diameter <br /> by 36 inch deep test holes backfilled with two inches of gravel . <br /> Both holes were filled with water 24 hours prior to running the <br /> test. A four hour percolation test was performed and the last <br /> half hour of the test readings were witnessed by a county health <br /> _ official and the test data obtained is enclosed in the Appendix. <br /> The results of the tests indicate that the soil at the proposed <br /> homesite on Parcel 1 had a percolation rate of 60 minutes/inch <br /> and the soil at the proposed homesite on Parcel 2 had a <br /> percolation rate of 34 minutes/inch. <br /> _ VII . CONCLUSION <br /> Based on the results of the percolation tests , the soil <br /> profile, and the performance of the septic systems in the <br /> surrounding area, it is Dillon & Murphy' s opinion that the new <br /> homesites resulting from the proposed parcel split of the subject <br /> property are suited for the construction of a typical on site <br /> sewage disposal system. The proposed system, however, should be <br /> properly designed .and installed according to current San Joaquin <br /> County criteria. <br /> It should be noted that the location of each of the <br /> percolation tests were chosen as the most likely location for a <br /> disposal field. Although it is not anticipated that soil <br /> conditions vary greatly over the subject project , if the actual <br /> location of a proposed disposal field varies significantly from <br /> the test locations , the test data should not be considered <br /> accurate of other locations . <br /> Based on the depth to ground water in the area, and the <br /> size of the proposed parcels , it is our opinion that the <br /> installation of the proposed septic systems , if properly <br /> installed, should not adversely affect the quality of the ground <br /> water in the area. <br /> VIII . LIMITATIONS <br /> The conclusions of this report are based on the <br /> _ information provided regarding the proposed development, the use <br /> of the subject property, and the site conditions as they existed <br /> at the time we excavated our test holes and performed the <br /> percolation tests . It was assumed that the test holes and <br /> _ percolation test results are representative of the subsurface <br /> conditions in the general area. <br /> Our services were performed, our findings obtained, and <br /> our conclusions proposed in accordance with generally accepted <br /> 3 <br />
