PA- <br /> 0700572 W CORTOPASSI FARMS, INC.; APN 063-110-15 <br /> Dear Mr. Funderburg: <br /> Thank you for submitting notice to the Department of Conservation (Department) as <br /> required by Government Code section 51284.1 for the above referenced matter. <br /> The applicant, Cortopassi Farms, Inc., submitted a petition requesting partial <br /> cancellation of their Williamson Act contract for the purpose of retaining a homesite. <br /> The petition affects approximately 1.44 acres of a parcel containing approximately 11.24 <br /> agricultural acres (APN 063-110-15), located at 10663 N. State Route 88 Highway, on <br /> the west side of State Route 88 Highway, 2,500 feet north of Eight Mile Road, northeast <br /> of Stockton, CA. Prime agricultural lands surround the affected parcel, including several <br /> subject to Williamson Act contracts. <br /> Cancellation Findings <br /> Government Code section 51282 states that tentative approval for cancellation may be <br /> granted only if the local government makes either of the following findings: 1) <br /> cancellation is consistent with purposes of the Williamson Act, or 2) cancellation is in <br /> the public interest. <br /> The Department has reviewed the petition and information provided and offers the <br /> following comments. <br /> ?he Department of Conservation's mission is to protect Californians and their environment by, <br /> Protecting lives and property from earthquakes and 4an&6de_s;Ensuring safe minim and odandgas drifh'ng; <br /> Conserving Caafornia's farmland;and Saving energy and resources through recycping, <br />
