CONCLUSIONS.AND RECOMMENDATIONS .
" In conclusion, though eighteen(1'8) soil borings.drilled.and several percolation tests were
conducted, a satisfactory percolation rate was.not achieved on the property due to clayey type
soils encountered throughout the site up to-a depth of 25 feet. The depth to ground water in the
area recently ranged, between 96 to 105 feet. The nitrate level measured in one of the three water
" wells was-found to be 4:7 mg/L-NO3 (1:0 mg/L-N). The Environmental Protection Agency
maximum contaminate level for drinking water for nitrate is 45 mg/L-NO3 and 10 mg/L-N No
DBCP was found in.the groundwater. _
The nitrate loading analysis has shown that the use of aseptic system will not cause a
buildup of nitrogen in the shallow aquifer above the maximum contaminate level of 10 mg/L-N.
The result of the anal sis is the nitrate level for the roe is 0.8 m L-N.
Th y property rtY
Based on the results of this study; the proposed project is suitable for use with an
engineered septic system specially designed to mitigate the clayey soil conditions. The
r recommendations for the project are as follows: "
1) An engineered septic system, designed to mitigate the clayey soil conditions
{" encountered at the site is,required for the project. Thiswould most likely involve,
y a design utilizing additional leach lines; increasing leach line length, and number
of seepage pits if.necessary. Our office was.contracted by Mike Smith
Engineering to.perform this design.
2) A qualified"engineer or professional should be consulted regarding the design and
performance.of the septic system.
3) Follow San Joaquin County Public Health,Services Environmental Health
Division Sewage Standards where applicable.
IX. LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this report are based on the information'provided.regarding the
existing and proposed development, the use of the subject property, and the'site conditions.as
they existed at the time,we excavated our test holes and.performed the percolation tests. It was
assumed that the test holes and percolation test results are representative of the subsurface,
conditions in'the general area..
- ♦ssac
r
