Box 1514
Lockeford,California 95237
t I
Application Numbers:
PA-0500509(SU)
PA-0500844(ZR)
Dear Kathy,
This letter is in reference to the applications by Baumbach and Piazza in behalf of Donald Luchessi,Inc
for a zone reclassification and subdivision application for parcels 019-110-26,019-110-20,019-110-12; located at
' 14400 East State Route 88 and Sierra Drive,Lockeford,California.
Beckman Properties is a family partnership which owns the farm property located east of the proposed i
"Lockeford Vistas"subdivision, parcels 019-120-04,019-120-05,019-120-26,located at 14690 East State Route
88,Lockeford,California. The Beckman family has owned this farm property for over 50 years in which time it
has been used for the raising of grain crops and the grazing of cattle. It is our intent to continue with farm i
operations as we have in the past with little or no interuptions from our neighbors desire to develop property.
While the proposed subdivision seems a nice addition to Lockeford we do have some areas of concern which we
would like the""Planning Commission"to consider .
Our first concern obviously is with the preservation of our farm property as it currently is.We recommend
that a noncombustible.fence such as a cinder or concrete block fence be constructed between the proposed
development and our property. At a height of 6 or 7 feet this fence would provide a viable deterant for entering our
property, destroying of our cattle fencing, drainage of water and dumping of garbage and yard trimmings. This
fencing would also enable us to better comply with fire break requirements.
Our other main concern with the proposed applications for the subdivision is the lack of a park for the
children in the development to enjoy. It has been our experience in other subdivisions in the area that the lack of
parks generally means that our farm property becomes the target of vandalism and fires.
1
i
