LOCKEFORD GOLF CLUB AND VINEYARDS FACT SHEET
Chatfield Vineyards and Golfco Incorporated are proposing to build a premiere and unique
public golf course for the residents of San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties to enjoy.
The Lockeford Golf Course is a well designed project that no only incorporated the
various ingredients necessary to build an 18-hole Championship golf course, but allows
the natural beauty and productivity of San Joaquin County's wine country to remain an
integral part of the overall landscape.
* The proposed Lockeford Golf Club is a 170-acre public golf course to be surrounded by
150 acres of productive vineyards. It is located approximately 1.5 miles south of
Lockeford and 112 mile north of Kettleman Lane on the east side of Highway 88.
* The land is currently zoned Ag-40 and does allow for a golf under the current zoning. In
addition, the proposed site does not fall under the Williamson Act. This will not be a
residential development.
* While the land is currently used to farm 106 acres of Tokay grapes and 198 acres of
walnuts, both crops were planted in the early 1940's and are virtually sterile due to
disease and age. The proposed Lockeford Golf Club will include 150 acres of newly-
planted Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes.
* Golfco Incorporated is a Northern California based company and has extensive experience
in the design, construction and management of golf course facilities. Golfco intends to
design and build this project with the highest and best use of the ground for both the
vineyard and golf course. Two of the most renown courses designed by Golfco include
the Chardonnay Club in Napa, California and the Spanish Bay Golf Club in Pebble Beach,
California.
* The Lockeford Golf Club will include eighteen holes, driving range, club house,
maintenance and golf cart storage facilities, and parking lot. The club house will include
a pro-shop, snack bar, restrooms and an office. In addition, two existing barns on the
property will be restored and used to accommodate a golf cart storage unit and
maintenance building.
* After extensive and thorough research, the proposed site does not violate or affect any
biological resources, environmental acts, or endangered species. There are no
documented endangered plants or animals on the property and proper traffic control
easures have already been mitigated to the fullest extent possibl
18
Formore on, please carrta Chaeld lwestments at(209)333-.1818.
