F)
PApril 1,2005
NOA Project Number: E05034A
FI -/ 6.4 Condition of Borings After Presaturat ion
After the 24-hour soak period, the presaturated holes were found to be intact on March 21, 2005.
The percolation test hole contained water on the bottom.
k
kl3 6.5 Percolation Test Procedure
Percolation tests were conducted for the borings on March 21, 2005.in accordance with the
requirements of the EHD. Tl e pre-test for the one hourtest lasted 10 minutes, since a satisfactory
F1percolation rate was observed to continue with the one hour test, the pre-test became the first
reading of the percolation test. A percolation test with a duration of one hour was performed the
hole. The entirety of the-one hour test was observed by Mr. Michael Escotto, Senior Registered
Environmental Health Specialist, EHD.
Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on the
PVC casing using an electric well sounder with an depth accuracy of 1/100th foot. All tabulated
` values on the field data sheet (appendix) are.in decimal feet. After water drop was observed, the
r holes were checked for refill..The refill level was approximately 0.5 ft (6.'inches) of water above the
I bottom level of the percolation test hole. The readings were taken every 10 minutes for a period of
! one hour.
pf`6.6 Percolation Tesi-Forrns and Results
The completed percolation test form is included in the appendix of this report.
A shallow percolation test is defined by the EHD as being between 36 and 42 inches in depth; a
satisfactory percolation rate for a shallow test is less-than or equal to 60 minutes per inch drop One
percolation test must demonstrate a satisfactory percolation rate within the proposed septic system
disposal field of each parcel to utilize a standard septic system. Details of the percolation test is
summarized in:Table 5.
F1 Table 5.
Summary of Percolation Tests.:.
F1Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
Date Tested Test Depth(ft) (minuted inch) Duration- < _ (see notes)
f
P-1 shallow,3/17/05 3.20 16.7 1-hr Satisfacto percolation rate
Note: A satisfactory.percolatio tofora" hallo 'testis less th or equal to 60 minutes per inch.
F -
9
