Per the San Joaquin
County Fire Chiefs' adopted guideline providing for fire apparatus access, I feel the road and bridge do
not meet this requirement.
Per Exhibit"A" of the guideline:
The fire apparatus access road shall be designed and maintained to support the imposed loads of fire
apparatus with a relative compaction of not less than ninety (90)percent...
The fire apparatus access road surface shall not allow the ponding of water.
Bridges, box culverts, or low water crossings shall be designed for HS 20-44 loading. An engineered
plan shall be submitted to the San Joaquin County Building Department for review and approval prior to
construction. NOTE: as the bridge is already in place the owner should provide engineering
documentation to meet this requirement.
Please let me know if there is anything else you need.
Thank you.
Kirk Noffsinger, Fire Chief
Linden—Peters Fire Protection District
