I LABORATORY NARRATIVE <br /> Modified TO-3 <br /> Geological Technics <br /> Workorder#0209329 <br /> j <br /> Two 1 Liter Tedlar Bag samples were received on September 18, 2002. The laboratory performed analysis via <br /> modified EPA Method TO-3 for Methyl tert-Butyl Ether, Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes and Total <br />. Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH). MTBEBTEX was analyzed via GC/PID and TPH via GC/FID. The TPH <br /> results are calculated using the response of Gasoline. A molecular weight of 100 is used to convert the TPH <br /> ppmv result to ug/L. The method involves concentrating up to 200 mL of sample. The concentrated aliquot is <br /> 1 then dry purged to remove water vapor'prior to entering the chromatographic system. See the data sheets for the <br /> reporting limits for each compound. <br /> ReceiviniNotes <br /> There were no receiving discrepancies. <br /> ' Analytical Notes <br /> Some analytes in the original analysis for sample Effluent exceeded the linear calibration range. The sample was <br /> re-analyzed at a dilution in order to bring all analytes into linear range. Sample re-analysis occurred out of hold <br /> Itime. Both analyses are reported at no charge. <br />{ <br /> TPH(C5+Hydrocarbons)ref.to Gasoline was detected in the laboratory blank analyzed on 9/19/02 at less than <br /> j5X the reporting limit. Associated sample results are reported as qualified. <br /> System peaks were subtracted from the TPH results of sample Influent prior to reporting. <br /> I <br /> i Definition of Data Oualifyiny Flags <br /> Seven qualifiers may have been used on the data analysis sheets and indicate as follows: <br /> B - Compound present in laboratory blank greater than reporting limit. <br /> J- Estimated value. <br /> E- Exceeds:instrument calibration range. <br /> S - Saturated peak. <br /> Q- Exceeds quality control lin-fits, <br /> U- Compound analyzed for but not detected above the detection limit. <br /> M- Reported value may be biased due to apparent matrix interferences. <br /> I <br />{ File extensions may have been used on the data analysis sheets and indicates <br /> as follows: <br /> a-File was requantified <br /> b-File was quantified by a second column and detector <br /> rl-File was requantified for the purpose of reissue <br /> i <br /> I Page 2 of 9 <br /> i <br />
