Nine monitoring events have been
completed to date since the groundwater investigation was initiated in April 2000. The
results of analytical data indicate that detectable concentrations of the aromatic hydrocarbon
compounds (BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-G) are present in one of the six
monitoring wells. Low levels of MTBE were present in MW-1 and MW-5. The deep well
MW-101 was non-detect for the third consecutive event and this suggests that the
contamination previously recorded was a drilling artifact and not indicative of a deeper
contaminant plume. ;
II
The groundwater gradient is 0.0021 ft/ft flowing N87o W which is consistent with past
events (see Figures 2 & 3). Depth to groundwater at the site was approximately 63 feet
l
below ground surface (bgs).
A vertical groundwater gradient calculation was made for the groundwater monitoring
event. The vertical gradient was found to be in a downward direction with a slope that is
approximately two times greater than the water table horizontal gradient. This is consistent
1 with past events.
f
f
