Figure 1 is a location map and Figure 2 is a site map. This
property was previously an Arco Gas and Mini Mart.
Previous work at this site includes two limited soil borings, soil sample analysis, and the (D\J _X
removal of the USTs and pump islands. During removal activities, soil samples were
collected which showed the presence of BTEX, TPH-G and MTBE.
On February 12 & 23, 1999 Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) drilled six boreholes, collected
soil and groundwater samples (including one groundwater sample from each borehole via
hydropunch methods) and tested these samples for petroleum hydrocarbons.
1.0 SOIL & GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION
To further investigate the lateral and vertical extent of soil and groundwater impacted with
petroleum hydrocarbons, GTI drilled six boreholes around the former pump islands.
Groundwater grab samples were collected from each borehole with a Hydropunch type
sampling tool. Figure 2 is a site map showing the locations of the borings.
1.1 Soil Borings
The borings were drilled using an 8.00-inch outside diameter continuous flight hollow stem
auger owned and operated by V&W Drilling (C57# 720904). The subsurface had previously
been cleared of underground utilities by notifying Underground Service Alert.
On February 12, 1999 three boreholes were drilled on site (HP-1, HP-4 & HP-5). The
boreholes were extended to the capillary fringe. A Hydropunch type sampling tool was then
advanced into the ground water to obtain a ground water sample. The depth to groundwater
cy in this area was approximately 60-61 feet below grade.
I`'
