Kloberdanz &
Associates (MJK) and has the following comments.
The correspondence presents a reevaluation of the Risk Based Corrective Action
(RSCA) model that had previously predicted a cancer risk and health hazard to people
working in the building at this site. The reevaluation of the model included using more
appropriate site specific values for the soil porosity and groundwater gradient. The
conclusion of the model remained the same, predicting that the soil contamination
resulting from an unauthorized release of petroleum hydrocarbons at this site presents a
risk via the indoor air quality of the office/shop building onsite. MJK has recommended
that a soil vapor survey be conducted to verify the potential threat to indoor air quality
predicted by the model.
Please submit a work plan to conduct a soil vapor survey to SJC/EHD by April 25, 2003.
If you have any questions or comments call Lori Duncan at(209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
01
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
