Test America is certified by the State of California
Department of Health Services (DHS) to conduct the requested analyses. Samples
were analyzed on a regular laboratory turnaround schedule, requiring approximately 10
working days for receipt of analytical data.
The groundwater samples collected from the monitoring wells were analyzed for Nitrate
as N by EPA Method 300.0. In addition, samples collected from the dewatering
discharge on an approximately weekly basis were also analyzed for nitrates.
4.3 SURFACE WATER MONITORING
• Visual inspections of the nursery were generally made on approximately a daily basis
by nursery personnel at points at which surface runoff may leave the nursery and enter
Potter Creek (directly or indirectly). These discharge points include, but are not limited
to:
1) the culverts/pipes from the tailwater holding pond
2) the roadside drainage ditch along the east side of Escalon Bellota Road
3) the drainage as it enters Norman's property from the south
Inspection records indicate whether the gates on the discharge culverts/pipes from the
tailwater pond (Basin B) were opened or closed.
Kleinfelder initially provided Norman's Nursery personnel with training on the surface
water monitoring and sampling. Additional periodic follow-up training and occasional
sampling are also conducted by Kleinfelder. Samples were collected by Norman's
Nursery personnel and analyzed as indicated below.
•
117226.E021ST012R0696 Page 19 of 43 September 14, 2012
Copyright 2012 Kleinfelder
