Sprinkler irrigation over the mound system must be carefully considered so as to not inundate the disposal
area. During the spring and summer months, irrigation should be done intermittently during the day and/or
evening-hours. For example, the sprinklers could run for five minutes, six times per day. Irrigation during
the wintertime abould btsuspended.
Another source of nitrate loading can be from the lawn grass that may be planted over the mound system
area. It is recommended not to use any nitrogen fertilizer over the mound system.
Accurate"as-builts"of the septic system installation must be supplied to the Environmental Health
Department by the septic system contractor/installer. All applicable"distance"and"setback"requirements
must be strictly followed.
It is imperative to recognize that all septic systems and disposal areas have a lifespan. This lifespan is
unpredictable due to the numerous operational and environmental factors involved. A critical lifespan issue
is controlling the on-site water use as much as possible. Water flows must be at an absolute minimum. The
control panel for the quad pump system will total the volume of wastewater pumped and consequently the
volume of domestic water used. If this volume exceeds the calculated ADF of 2,400 gpd, adjustments must
be made to on-site water usage. Restricting water use also includes checking.for water leaks in toilets,
dripping faucets, etc.on a regular monthly basis.
VI. LIMITATIONS
The findings, opinions and conclusions of this report are based upon information from standard engineering
and analytical test procedures, contemporary scientific literature and agency consultations. Information in
this report is deemed reliable by the sources from where it was obtained. Results of the percolation testing
should be assumed to only represent the subsurface conditions encountered in the specific area of testing
and not of the entire proposed mound system area to serve the expansion of the Gurdwara Gur Nanak
Parkash Sikh Temple. The specific design components for the Temple's domestic wastewater disposal
system are subject to change.
This report is based upon current scientific knowledge to assess factors which are extremely variable and
complex within the environment. Although there are several methods to size and predict environmental
impact from a septic system,San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department Sewage Standards and
requirements have been employed for these purposes, and for this project. Therefore,no guarantee or
warranty concerning any aspect of this report or design,is expressed or implied.
The opportunity to provide this service for you is appreciated.
