The"C"event mean constituent concentration values were obtained from numerous studies conducted throughout
California (Larry Walker Associates 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000a-b, and 2001a-d as cited in RBF Consulting [2002]),
with priority being given to data available from sites located in the Central Valley region.Mean constituent
concentrations for four land use designations (i.e.,undeveloped, residential, commercial, and industrial) were
used as shown in Table 4.8-3. For the purposes of this analysis, undeveloped land uses included open space,
.. buffer and conservation lands, and agricultural lands;parks were included with the residential land use category.
Table 4.8-4 shows the estimated acreage of land uses under existing and developed conditions within the College
Park area only(i.e., excluding the watershed located upstream of College Park),based on information contained
in the College Park drainage plan(MacKay& Somps 2004)and the Mountain House Storm Water Master Plan
Update(MHCSD 2003).
Table 4.8-3
Mean Constituent Concentrations for Land Use Categories
Constituent Residential Commercial Industrial Undeveloped
Conventional(mg/L)
Oil and Grease 4.19 8.35 4.63 5.97
TSS 135 174 167 578
BOD 23.3 23.1 23.5 31.2
Nutrients(mgtL)
TKN 3.56 3.65 2.70 5.51
Nitrate+Nitrite 1.60 1.54 2.48 6.87
Ammonia 0.84 1.04 0.80 1.95
Dissolved phosphorus 0.30 0.27 0.31 0.76
Total phosphorus 0.73 0.62 0.53 1.72
Trace Metals(µg/L)
Total chromium 4.61 13.4 9.82 7.10
Dissolved chromium 1.97 2.90 3.24 6.07
Total copper 19.3 45.0 26.8 37.0
Dissolved copper 8.01 9.67 11.0 24.4
Total lead 16.4 16.7 19.9 19.7
Dissolved lead 4.44 4.90 5.33 11.4
Total mercury 0.10 0.02 0.14 0.11
Total selenium 3.18 0.55 1.10 1.00
Total zinc 108 200 329 217
Dissolved zinc 44.5 63.4 67.5 32.0
Pesticides(µg/L)
Chlorpyrifos 0.06 0.21 0.03 -
Diazmon 0.71 0.19 - 0.07
Source:Larry Walker Associates(1997,1998, 1999,2000a-b,and 200la-d)as cited in RBF Consulting(2002).
College Park at Mountain House Specific Plan III Draft EIR EDAW
San Joaquin County 4.8-11 Water Quality
