With respect to emergency medical services, these services are coordinated by the San
Joaquin County Emergency Medical Services Agency and are provided to the Mountain
House community by private ambulance agencies. In addition, emergency medical
services are provided by ambulance from the Tracy Hospital Ambulance. Response time
to the project site is less than five minutes.
Law enforcement services would be provided by the MHCSD. The MHCSD provides
these services via a contract with the San Joaquin County Sheriff. There is a sheriff's
office at the Mountain House fire station. A permanent Sheriffs substation is scheduled to
be built in the Town Center before the population of Mountain House reaches 7,500. The
current population of Mountain House is estimated at 6,500.
o Parks. In addition to the open space amenities provided by the linear park, residents of
the proposed development would be able to use the neighborhood park planned for
development west of the proposed K-8 school, west of Prosperity Street.
o Telephone.Telephone and cable service would be provided by the MHCSD, which may
subcontract with another entity to provide such service to residences in the project area.
Currently, the MHCSD has subcontracted with SBC Communications to provide
telephone service and with Charter Communications to provide cable services (e.g., cable
television and other video-based services, on-demand interactive multimedia applications,
voice and data services, and information services).
o Electrical/Gas Lines. The Modesto Irrigation District would provide electricity and Pacific
Gas and Electric would provide gas service. Construction of the necessary infrastructure
to provide these services would be the responsibility of the two companies.
Recommendation
Approval.
9
I
