Buck&Mendoza Property July 20,2005
Phase I Environmental Assessment
Page: 7
Since most of the structures were built before the lead based paint ban it is possible that
paint containing lead was used at some time.
3.5 Wells
A domestic water well is or has been located on each of the parcels.
No oil or gas wells were listed within one half mile of the site.
3.6 Chemical Usage
F
Historical chemical use on this site is believed to be limited to the normal application of
agricultural chemicals. However, no chemical usage was determined during this
assessment. No indication of pesticides having been stored in large amounts on the
parcels was found. No business plan for large amounts of pesticide has been fled
according to the San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health.
3.7 Description of Disposal Practices
No evidence of historical waste or hazardous waste disposal on site was disclosed during
this assessment. However, the structures involved with this assessment either have or
have had a septic tank and septic system for sewage disposal. Considerable debris is
located on the Mendoza parcel as a result of demolition.
3.8 Underground Fuel Tanks
Above ground and underground storage of fuel is typical on small farms and ranch
facilities. However, evidence of underground fuel tanks having ever been present on the
subject property was not found during this assessment. A site inspection was conducted
in order to locate possible fill and vent pipes, but none were found. Fire department,
assessors department and health department records were reviewed with no indication of
any underground storage tanks having been located on the property.
Since many fuel tanks, above ground and underground, were installed and removed by
farmers without permit M.J. Kloberdanz & Associates cannot make any warranty or
guarantee that fuel has never been stored on the subject properties.
3.9 PCB's
Sources of incidents involving PCB's on the subject property were not disclosed during
this audit.
