POPULATION AND HOUSING.
Would the project:
r a) Induce substantial population ■ ❑ ❑ ❑ Ll
in an area,either directly(for
example,by proposing new homes
and businesses)or indirectly(for
example,through extension of roads
or other infrastructure)?
b) Displace substantial numbers of ■ ❑ ❑ ❑ ❑ ❑
` existing housing,necessitating the
construction of replacement housing
elsewhere?
c) Displace substantial numbers of ■ ❑ ❑ ❑ ❑ ❑
r. people,necessitating the
construction of replacement housing
elsewhere?
SETTING
The Specific Plan III area contains approximately 45 residences, of which approximately 40
residences are in Grant Line Village, and five residents are located on Grant Line Road
between the Alameda County line and Mountain House Parkway. Approximately 135
residents(assuming 3 persons per dwelling unit) are housed in these units (SPIIIEIR, Vol. 11).
As stated in the SPIIIEIR Appendix D, the MHMP sets forth a comprehensive set of
population and housing plans and requirements. Buildout under the MHMP would result in
an estimated 39,000 residents, 15,700 expected dwelling units, and 21,600 employees within
the Mountain House community. The Grant Line Village located on Grant Line Road is
designated Very Low Residential. This designation would permit preservation of the existing
residences and/or redevelopment of these areas with low-density residential development if
desired by the existing residents. The MHMP states that Specific Plans shall be prepared so
that a maximum of 16,000 units is not exceeded.
SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS IDENTIFIED IN 2005 SPIIIEIR
r
No significant impacts were identified.
v
DISCUSSION REGARDING PROPOSED PROJECT
L a) Induce substantial population growth in an area, either directly (for example, by
proposing new homes and businesses) or indirectly(for example, through extension of
roads or other infrastructure)?
L
4-59
V
