MouNTAw HousE PROPOSED ALTAMONT HEIGHTSTENTATIVE MAP 4. ENVIRONMFNTAL CHECKLIST
4.11 NOISE
Future development of the Mountain House Community, including the proposed project, will
result in noise levels that could exceed standards established in the Development Title for the
Mountain House Community. Noise would be generated by increased traffic along I-205 and
local arterial and collector streets within the Specific Plan III area in which the project site is
located. The impacts on sensitive receptors(e.g., residences) from these sources of noise
were addressed in the SPIIIEIR, and mitigation measures were proposed that would snake the
impacts less than significant when implemented.
I
Mitigation Measures
No additional mitigation measures are required.
b) Exposure of persons to or generation of excessive ground borne vibration or ground
borne noise levels?
There are no potential ground-borne vibration sources associated with the proposed project.
Mitigation Measures
No mitigation measures are required.
c) A substantial permanent increase in ambient noise levels in the project vicinity above
levels existing without the project?
The site of the proposed project was formerly used for fanning. The proposed project is part
of the overall development of the Mountain House Community. Therefore, noise levels
following development would significantly increase over former conditions due to increased
traffic and community activities. As stated in Item a) above, these impacts were addressed in
the SPIIIEIR, and mitigation measures were proposed that would make the impacts less than
significant.
Mitigation Measures
No additional mitigation measures are required.
d) A substantial temporary or periodic increase in ambient noise levels in the project
vicinity above levels existing without the project?
Temporary increases in noise levels would be associated with construction of houses and.
infrastructure in the various portions of the Mountain House Community. Whether
temporary construction noise would impact the residents of the proposed project depends on
the timing of development of the various neighborhoods. SPIIIEIR addresses construction
noise impacts and proposes mitigation measures that would make the impacts less than
significant.
4-57
