The site is
in the Mountain House Community that is located between the historic Miwok and Ohlone
Indian area to the north and west and the Northern Yokut Indian area to the east and south.
With the secularization of the missions in 1833,much of California was divided into private
^ ranchos. Cattle ranching, orchards and other agricultural uses were common in the region
around the property.
Fli SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS IDENTIFIED IN 2005 SPIIIEIR
Three potential cultural resource impacts were identified in the SPIIIEIR. The impact
regarding the potential for the destruction of the historic trees along Grant Line Road was
found to be less than significant due to commitments made by developers of the Mountain
House Community to replace the trees when the road is widened and to provide other
amenities along the road.
The following impacts were identified as potentially significant or significant:
Impact 4.6-2: Cultural Resources—Potential Destruction/Damage a to Undiscovered Cultural
P 9
Resources. Subsurface disturbances during construction could potentially destroy or damage
undiscovered prehistoric or historic cultural resources that may be considered"unique
archaeological resources"or"historic resources"as defined by CEQA. A potentiallysigniffcant
impact would occur.
4-24
z
