Box 3794
Turlock, CA 95381
RE: PA-0400351 PRE-APPLICATION FOR GENERAL PLAN MAP AMENDMENT
3703 W. GRANTLINE ROAD,TRACY
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has received a Soil Suitability
Study/Nitrate Loading Study (SSS/NLS) dated June 12, 2007. The Report satisfies EHD
requirements for SSS/NLS minimum content criteria. The findings of the report indicate a
maximum available acreage of 1.0 acre, elevated nitrate in the onsite domestic well, and shallow
groundwater.
The report concluded that the nitrate loading calculations show the subject property could
support a maximum of seven people per day without exceeding the maximum contaminant level
of 10 ppm nitrate nitrogen.
Given the existing environmental conditions and limitations described in the report, EHD
reserves comment(s) on the full application for a General Plan Amendment pending submittal of
an addendum to the SSS/NLS. The addendum should incorporate a project proposal that could be
feasibly designed with regards to onsite wastewater disposal and public well standards in
addition to other infrastructure requirements.
Should you have any questions, please contact Rod Estrada, Lead Senior REHS of my staff, at
(209)468-0331.
Sincerely,
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Mike Huggins, Program Coordinator, REHS, RDI
Environmental Health Department
MHAI
f
