LFR Inc.
8.1.1 Historical Aerial Photographs
Historical aerial photographs were provided by EDR for the years 1957, 1963, 1970,
1982, 1993 and 1998. The photographs were reviewed to identify former land use on,
and in the vicinity of, the Site. Brief descriptions of the Site and vicinity, as observed
in the aerial photographs, are presented below. Copies of the aerial photographs are
attached in Appendix E.
1957, 1963 and 1970
In all of these photographs, the majority of the Site appears to be vacant fallow farm
land. A structure is depicted on the southwest property boundary. The structure is
apparent in all of the photographs indicating that it existed prior to the 1957 aerial
photograph. The structure shape resembles a barn or a single family residential
structure. An unpaved road transects the Site in the 1957 photograph in a northeast -
southwest direction. Lower Sacramento Road is depicted southeast of the Site and Bear
Creek is depicted south of the Site in all of the photographs. Dry-land farming and row
crops with scattered residential homes are visible in the site vicinity. Railroad tracks
are visible adjacent and to the east of the Site.
1982
In the 1982 photograph, the entire Site appears vacant. The majority of the site appears
light in color, resembling a graded field. The single structure that was depicted on the
southwestern corner of the Site is no longer present. Dry-land farming and row crops
with scattered residential homes are visible in the site vicinity. However, increased
residential development is depicted south of Bear Creek.
1993
In the 1993 photograph, the Site appears as vacant fallow land. A circular unpaved
road is depicted at the approximate center of the Site. The eastern corner of the Site
appears darker than the rest of the Site. The darkness may depict ponding water. The
majority of the surrounding properties appear as vacant fallow land, with the exception
of limited agricultural land to the east and the development of six warehouse structures
to the south of the Site.
1998
In the 1998 photograph, the Site and site vicinity appear unchanged from the 1993
photograph.
Summary
Based upon the aerial photographic review, the majority of the Site has been farm land
or vacant fallow land at least as far back as 1957. One small structure was depicted at
0034)9146-00_LowerSacn toRaad_1LHo s_Ph=7 ESAxth Page 23
