No ground discoloration or spillages of chemicals were found during the field search. On the date of the field search no pesticides, herbicides, chemicals or fertilizers were found on the subject property. No overhead fuel dispensing tanks were found on the subject property. Also the visual above ground property search did not reveal any vent pipes, excavated areas or other evidences of below ground contaminant sources. However,no below ground excavations were made as a part of the property search. Possible Septic Contamination: Existing San Joaquin County records of septic system permits in the immediate area of the subject property were reviewed. A total of ten(10) septic permits were reviewed. Two(2) of the reviewed permits were for adding to existing systems. Five(5)of the reviewed permits involved leach lines with rectangular shaped pits at their ends. Two(2)of the reviewed permits were for installing leach lines only. The remaining permit involved installing leach lines and circular shaped pits. Two(2) of the permits involved installing leach lines only varying from 70' to 90' long. Five(5) of the permits were for installing two (2)to three (3) leach lines varying from 40' to 90' long with either 4'x 8' or 4'x `10' pits varying from 10' to 12' deep at their ends. Two (2) permits were for addition to existing systems. One was for installing a 60' long leach line with a 48" diameter pit,25' deep at its end. The other was for installing one(1)40' long leach line with a 4"x 8' pit, 10' deep. The remaining permit was for installing two(2) leach lines, each 25' long with 36" diameter pits at their ends. One pit was 25' deep and the other pit was 35' deep. No permits were noted for repairing any of the facilities subsequent to their installation. From the historical septic records there is no indication of septic contamination problems. Possible Nitrate Pollution: No animals were seen on the subject property so there does not appear to be any undue nitrate concentrations because of an overpopulation of animals. Possible Chemical Use Contamination In Crop Production: The pesticides and herbicides used in managing and controlling insects and mites, nematodes and weeds in the production of alfalfa and rice are contained in"Appendixes 11 and III",respectively.
