No -5095 P. 8
Quik Stop Station No. 079 June 20,2002
Turlock California Results of Additional Groundwater Assessment
The 25, 60 and 65-foot soil samples and the hydropunch groundwater samples were analyzed
for TPHg, BTEX, and the five fuel oxygenates MTBE, diisopropyl ether (RIPE), ethyl-t-
butyl ether (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), and tert-butanol (TBA) by EPA
Method 8260B.
RESULTS OF SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION
,. Soils encountered to 65 feet bsg consisted primarily of brown to gray silt with variable
fractions of gravel, sand and clay, with minor interbedded, brown to reddish brown silty sand
with variable fractions of gravel as shown on the boring logs. Groundwater was encountered
at approximately 64 feet bsg in the soil borings.
Soil and hydropunch groundwater analytical results are summarized in Table 1. Analytical
reports and chain-of-custody documents are contained in Appendix E.
No TPHg, BTEX or oxygenate compounds were reported in the soil samples collected from
the three soil borings. /No TPHg, BTEX compounds or MTBE were reported in the
-- composite soil stockpile sample. ,A total lead concentration of 5.17 milligrams per kilogram
(parts per million or ppm)was reported in the soil stockpile sample.
9} V119161
Concentrations of TPHg ranging fromto"71660 micrograms per liter (parts per billion or
ppb), ethylbenzene ranging from 5.0 to 20 ppb and total xylenes ranging from 29 to 110 ppb
were reported in the three groundwater samples. A concentration of 0.63 ppb MTBE was
reported in the SB-1 groundwater sample. -
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Analytical results of soil samples indicate that soil petroleum hydrocarbon impacts do not
extend out from the dispenser and former UST locations to the soil boring SB-1 through SB-
079rpt6-02 5
Project No.7079.13 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL
