• INTRODUCTION
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Dylan Foster to conduct
a Nitrate Loading Study for his property located at 30566 East Hall Avenue, Escalon,
California. Mr. Foster has indicated that he plans to place a three-bedroom mobile
home on the property; a two-bedroom home is already located on the Site.
Because of concerns of nitrate leaching into ground water from septic systems, a nitrate
loading analysis was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department for approval of the proposed development. The study estimates the
potential concentration of percolating effluent produced by the proposed project over the
long term. Where percolating effluent leaches into the ground, ground-water quality
may be impacted to some degree should the effluent reach the aquifer.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Nitrate
Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 249-080-22. The parcel is 2.00
acres in size, and is located at 30566 East Hall Avenue, Escalon, (Plate 1).
• The Site contains a house, a shop, two chicken houses, a covered parking area, and
several sheds/animal pens. The remainder of the property is undeveloped. A domestic
well supplies water to the Site; an old well is also located on the Site (Plate 2).
Mr. Foster indicated that a new three-bedroom mobile home will be placed on the Site;
a new septic system will be installed to serve the home (Plate 3).
• LOGE 1807 Page 1
