March 31, 2004 <br /> B94301.01 Page 3 <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> ` Information concerning the Site was obtained from a Site reconnaissance and a review of the <br /> documents referenced in this report. <br /> r <br /> 2.1 Location and Description of the Site <br /> i. The Site is located at 1248 W.Hammer Lane and 1301 W.Joan Avenue,in the city of Stockton,San <br /> Joaquin County, California, on one rectangular parcel. The Site is developed with a single story, <br /> wood frame residence with detached wood frame garage and barns at the 1301 W. Joan Avenue <br /> address. The 1248 W. Hammer Lane portion of the Site is vacant land. A Site location map is <br /> presented as Drawing 1, and a Site plan is presented as Drawing 2 in Appendix A. The San Joaquin <br /> County Assessor's Office(SJCAO)has assigned Assessor's Parcel Number(APN) 077-049-04 and <br /> 05 and listed the legal owner as: <br /> Herman Keesee <br /> 208 Seaside Street <br /> Santa Cruz, California 95060 <br /> ` Although the SJCAO lists the legal owner as Mr.Keesee,according to a grant deed for the property, <br /> dated December 2 2003 the legal owner of the Site is Michael G. Collins &Deborah A. Collins. <br /> 2.2 Physical and Environmental Setting of the Site <br /> r, Physical and environmental characteristics of the Site including topography, geology, soil and <br /> hydrogeology were evaluated based on Site observations,published literature, and maps. <br /> �.. Topography <br /> Topographic map coverage of the Site is provided by the United States Geological Survey(USGS), <br /> Lodi South, California, 7.5-minute quadrangle map dated 1968,photo revised 1976. The Site lies <br /> within the southwest quarter of Section 16,Township 2 North,Range 6 East,Mount Diablo Baseline <br /> and Meridian. According to the map, the Site is located at an elevation of approximately 10 feet <br /> above mean sea level, and the land surface slopes slightly toward the southwest. Areas to the <br /> northeast of the Site appear to be topographically upgradient. <br /> Geology <br /> ` The Site is located within the San Joaquin Valley.The San Joaquin Valley is part of the Great Valley <br /> Geomorphic Province,a topographic and structural basin bounded on the east by the Sierra Nevada <br /> and to the west by the Coast Range.The Sierra Nevada,a fault block dipping gently to the southwest, <br /> ` is composed of igneous and metamorphic rocks of pre-Tertiary age which comprise the basement <br /> complex beneath the valley. (USGS, 1986). The subsurface of the Site and surrounding vicinity is <br /> characterized by a thick sequence ofunconsolidated sediments. Subsurface material beneath the Site <br /> is primarily composed of alluvial fan deposits and flood plain over-bank deposits including <br /> interbedded silts, sands, clays, and gravels (USGS, 1986). <br />
