F
SIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
ervations, and my professional opinion and judgment, there appears to be no surfacen the subject property. The likelihood of subsurface contamination is remote based
upon the referenced justifications, particularly the data presented by Rec-Check®. Therefore, as of
the date of this report, no corrective action is required within the boundaries of the subject property.
The probability of subsurface contamination from pesticides, or other types of agrichemicals that may
have drifted, or used on the property, can be considered extremely low. This considers the
environmental fate data for DDT and its related compounds presented above, which would be the
most likely persistent agrichemical. The depth to groundwater of approximately 60 feet would make
impact from adverse constituents, other than nitrate, a slight possibility.
The probability for nitrate contamination of the underlying aquifers originating from surrounding
septic systems is a possibility due to the number of systems in the study area. Fertilizer applications
upgradient to the site also may contribute to higher nitrate concentrations in the top aquifers.
The subject site is surrounded to the south by traffic noise from Interstate 205 and by properties that
engage in production agriculture. Consequences of this surrounding land use include: noise, dust,
odors, insects, machinery, crop dusting aircraft, trucks, exhaust and other environmental effects that
may be offensive to some people. It is recommended that these environmental effects be conveyed
to prospective tenants.
Page-6-
Chesney Consulting
