ANDERSON ENVIRONMENTAL
AN D ASSOCIATES
INSPECTIONS a TESTING
LABORATORY SERVICES
POOL ENGINEERING
POST TENSION DESIGN
PHASE II ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT WORKPLAN
ST. JOACHIM'S PARISH
13320 STATE ROUTE 88
LOCKEFORD, CALIFORNIA
OUR PROJECT NUMBER: E07091A
1.0 SUMMARY
Neil 0. Anderson & Associates, Inc. (NOA) has been retained by Vern Vierra of Delta Building
Design, to conduct a Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment for the property located
at 13320 State Route 88, Lockeford, San Joaquin County, California. The property is planned
for sale.
The subject property is located adjacent to a former Chevron gasoline station which was the
site of a leaking underground storage tank case. Our office previously completed a County File
Review (May 2007) in which we requested and reviewed files for the adjacent former Chevron
at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) office. Based on review of
the files it was determined that, although the site received closure from the from the EHD and
the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, a significant volume of contaminated
soil remained in the subsurface. This Phase II is intended to address concerns related to the
potential for soil contamination at the former Chevron site to have impacted soil on the subject
property.
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) requires a workplan be
prepared before drilling permits can be issued for environmental investigations. A drilling
permit will be required for the proposed boring near the former underground storage tank.
The workplan is organized into the following sections: general information, health and safety
plan, soil sampling procedures, proposed time schedule for work, and report preparation. We
understand the investigation may not proceed until after EHD staff approval of the workplan
and issuance of a drilling permit. A California licensed geologist will oversee the investigation
on the site.
1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Soil Sample Purpose, Location, and Depth
The basic purpose for collecting soil samples is to identify any impacts to on-site soils which
may have occurred as a result of leakage from the adjacent former underground storage tank.
LODI • SACRAMENTO WALNUT CREEK • RENO • MODESTO
L 0 D 1 902 Industrial Way Lodi,CA 95240 • 209.367.3701 • FAX 209.369.4228
