ff VALLEY MATERIAL TRANSPORTATION, INC.
Lightweight Flatbeds - Forklift Service
ATTACHMENT TO SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY -SITE APPLICATION
Valley Material Transportation, Inc. operates a
specialized service to the construction market and hauls
and deliveries long, laminated construction beams. This
market requires beams that are fabricated and delivered in
lengths up to 80 feet long.
So that we can legally transport these beams from
Washington, Oregon and California to their destination we
have purchased special load distribution type trailers
that we allow these beams to be transported. As you will
note, these are trailers that are 481 long that will allow
a front (trailer to cab) overhang of 15 ' and a rear
overhang up to 251 . Presently we have 20 trailers.
The negative with this type of trailer axle configuration
is that when the truck-trailer makes a tight turn it will
destroy asphalt paving, when it pivots. In both, our old
Lodi yard and the yard that we presently operate out of on
Cardinal St. we have virtually destroyed the pavement
surface. As you will note on the enclosed site plan, we
have surfaced the shop apron with concrete (on the exit
side) so that the tires will slide over the surface. In
the parking-storage area we plan on using aggregate base
so that the tires will slip, or slide on the base
material.
w
