KLEINFELDER
An ImPI.lP Owned company
File No. 13257.601
June 4, 2002
Mr. Ray Takata
Takata Sugioka Kimura
7311 Greenhaven Drive, Suite 190
Sacramento, CA 95831
Subject: NITRATE LOADING STUDY
GRANITE STOCKTON OFFICE
FRENCH CAMP, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Takata:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our nitrate loading study for a proposed office
addition to be located in French Camp, California. The purpose of our study was to determine
the potential increase in nitrate loading in groundwater from the existing septic system due to
waste from the proposed building addition. The study was performed in general accordance to
the requirements of Section 9-10100© of San Joaquin County Ordinance. The following
includes background information regarding the proposed development, present use of the site,
and the groundwater depth in the project area. In addition, discussions regarding our
investigative procedures and the site conditions encountered during our field exploration are
presented. Finally, the results of our nitrate loading calculations and project limitations are
provided.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand that an addition is planned for the existing office building
at the subject 27.12-acre project site. We understand there will be a total of about 50 employees
and up to 20 additional people on site occasionally for seminars. There will be kitchen/break
room facilities on site.
We understand that waste from the proposed addition will be deposited into an existing on-site
sewage disposal system consisting of a septic tank and leach trench. ZG
GROUNDWATER DEPTH J
During the time of our investigation, groundwater was encountered at a depth of approximately
20.5 feet. Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater contour maps published in groundwater reports
by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District show groundwater
levels in the project area ranging from about 15 to 30 feet below ground surface from Spring
1981 to Spring 1999.
13257.G01/ST02R023 June 4,2002
0 2002 Kleinfelder,Inc.
