Harney Ln Lodi, Ca.
Dear Sir,
As discussed with you during our recent phoncon, we are opposed to allowing the
proposed Composting Site located at 1320 E. Harney Ln. Lodi, Ca. The proposed site
is located on a parcel which adjoins the westerly boundry of my property, at 1490 E.
Harney Ln. Lodi, Ca.
Listed below are my concerns related to the proposed composting operation:
• The site is located on Agricultural property, located between vineyards, and close to
numerous residences. Additionally, it is directly across the street from the CITY OF
LODI City Limits.
• There already is a large volume of vehicular traffic on HARNEY LN_ Refuse trucks
hauling waste to the site would likely add to the traffic and congestion.
• The proposed site consists of 16 acres. Approximately 2125' long by 330' wide. The
site is very long and narrow. There currently is no road between the properties. A
road or roadways will be required to have access to the site. If these roads are not
properly designed, they will cause a dust nusisance to the adjoining properties.
During the wet season, mud could also be a problem. Even if dust emission is from
the roadway is controlled, dust and flying debris from the trucks traveling down the
long roadway could cause a problem. It would likely blow onto my property.
• The processing of composting material requires windrowing, turning, and screening
of the material. I am concerned that this operation will emit dust. It is a known fact,
