Inc./Application for Use Permit: Request to Remove <br /> Hearing from Calendar (Our File 1488-002) <br /> Dear Kerry: <br /> As you know, this office represents Jose J. Rios on his application for a use permit to <br /> develop an affordable farm labor housing community in the northeastern section of the <br /> County (UP-98-18). <br /> We are currently working with the Sheriffs Office and the Community Development <br /> Department to develop a comprehensive Security Plan for this project. We believe that <br /> security is an important issue to the project's success. <br /> The Planning Commission hearing for this project is currently scheduled for <br /> February 21, 2002. After further consultation with the Sheriffs Office and the Community <br /> Development Department, we do not believe this date will provide sufficient time to <br /> adequately resolve security matters with this project; a Planning Commission hearing on <br /> this project in three weeks would be premature. Our goal is to make the neighborhood as <br /> safe—if not safer—than it already is with the development of this project.
