'92.10:59 '<LE I NFELDER SKTN 457 P02
.,,.
File No. 20-1036-92
March 26, 1992
Thomas Shepherd
C/o Neumiller and Beardslee
509 West Weber Avenue
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS
8421 NORTH HELEN LANE
STOCRTONO CALIFORNIA 95212
Dear Mr. Shepherd:
On March 23 , 1992, a representative of our firm visted to the
residence at 8421 North Helen Lane in Stockton, California. The
purpose of the visit was to visually log the soil types
encountered in a backhoe test pit that had been previously
excavated at the direction of Mr. Stan Oshida of Siegfried and
Associates. The test pit was located in the backyard area.
Our representative logged the soil types as follows. The first
six inches consisted of dark brown clayey sandy silt, topsoil
planted with lawn. Beneath the topsoil was approximately 3' feet
of light brown slightly clayey sandy silt, with lenses of light
brown silty clayey sandy silt. We note that the test pit was
oriented approximately in a north/south direction, and the test
pit intercepted a zone of very coarse gravel or small cobbles on
the south end at approximately the 4- foot depth. This gravel
appeared to be the remains of a pre-existing leach line. From
approximately 4 to 7 feet in depth the soil consisted of a brown
sandy clayey silt which was underlain at 7 feet by a light brown
slightly clayey sandy silt to the depth explored of approximately
8 feet.
A wooded lawn area containing fruit trees, grape vines and pine
trees surrounded the test pit. This general area was located to
the east of a large orchard.
Plate I is a graphical representation of the test pit and the
soils encountered.
Copyright 1992 Kleinfelder, Inc. ,
