MOUNTAIN HOUSE NEIGHBORHOODS K AND L INITIAL STUDY 5.ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST
I 1.AESTHETICS
1
c) Would the project substantially degrade the existing visual character of
the surrounding area?
t Refer to the discussion under Items(a)and (b)above.
d) Would the project create a new source of light and glare that would affect
day or night time views?
Light and glare were addressed in the 1994 MEIR. No significant new light and
glare impacts would result from the project. Lighting recommendations are also
included in the text of SPII,which includes Neighborhoods K and L. Lighting is
generally to be limited to 12 to 14 feet in height in Neighborhood Centers and is
to be shielded. Parking area lights are to be shielded to minimize glare, as
stated in SPII. No additional mitigation measures would be necessary.
Sources of Information
J' Mountain House Community Services District(MHCSD), 1999.
