• Percolation Test Results
The completed percolation test forms are included in Appendix 3 of this report. The
forms were signed by Mr. Ahmed and indicate the percolation rate for each hole based
on the final water drop observed.
Per San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's definition, a shallow
percolation test hole has a depth between 36 and 42 inches; a satisfactory percolation
rate for a shallow test is greater than 1 minute per inch (min/in) drop but less than or
equal to 60 min/in drop. A deep percolation test hole has a depth greater than 3.5 feet
and up to 25 feet; a satisfactory percolation rate for a deep test is greater than 1 min/in
drop but less than or equal to 30 min/in. For the Site to utilize a standard septic system,
one percolation test (either a shallow or deep test) must demonstrate a satisfactory
percolation rate within the proposed septic system disposal field.
Details and results of the percolation tests are summarized in the following table.
Table 2. Percolation Test Summary
Test No., Percolation Percolation Test Duration Comments
Date Tested Test Rate (see notes)
Depth (ft.) A satisfactory percolation rate for a"deep"test is greater than 1 min/in but less than or equal to 30 minutes
per inch. Only one test(shallow or deep) is required to pass per parcel for that parcel to utilize a standard septic
system.
1 Requires 20' separation between bottom of dispersal system and ground water, or mitigation by system
design or enhancement.
2 Requires 8' separation between bottom of dispersal system and ground water, or mitigation by system
design or enhancement.
•
LOGE 1809 Page 6
