The policy of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) is
for the installation of a septic system disposal field to be within 100 feet of percolation tests
conducted for that given leachfield.
The percolation test locations and subsequent disposal area for the Daluz's home are denoted on
the attached residential Site Plan. Acceptable percolation in the deeper soils was achieved, while
nonexistent permeability was observed in the shallow soils.
SUBSURFACE SOIL STRUCTURE
A Mobile Drill B-24 truck-mounted drill rig was used to drill the percolation test borings, and to
retrieve soil samples from auger cuttings. A field log-of-boring was completed from the deep
boring, which is found in Appendix C. Soil characteristics are described using the Unified Soil
Classification System(USCS). As denoted on the log of boring, the surface soil characteristics
underlying the property in the area of drilling reveal the soil to be predominately a lean clay
containing a fine sand, with a cemented silts hardpan and claypan. These soils are impermeable
at the shallow perc test depth representative of leachlines.
Page-1-
T O. Boy,3794 ♦ Tudock CA 95381 ♦ Office(209)668-1403 ♦ Ta.((209)668-2598
