1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT:
1.1 Description of Site: The project consists of a 101 acre parcel located at 600 S. Hewitt
Road, Linden, CA. The subject parcel number is 187-020-03. The project is in a rural
residential community, and the existing parcel is zoned R/R (Rural Residential).
1.2 Description of proposed development: It is proposed to split 101 acre parcel into four
parcels, two 21 acre parcels, one 31 acre parcel, and one 2.51 acre parcel. In accordance with
the San Joaquin County Development Title, this Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report
(SSCR) is being submitted for approval. This report will investigate the property for visual or
historical environment contamination based on field observation, interviews with the owner,
and county records. (This SSCR includes no chemical analysis).
1.3 Parcel Location Map: (See Appendix for Tentative Map with Vicinity Map, and APN
page).
1.4 Site Map: (See Appendix for Tentative Map).
2.0 PAST, PRESENT, AND PROPOSED FUTURE USES OF THIS SITE:
2.1 Discussion of Past, Present, and Proposed Future Uses: The primary source of
information of the historic use of this property is testimony of the owner, Ruth Collett. The
owner was interviewed on May 11, 2005. Ruth Collett has owned the subject parcel for the
past 8 years. The land use has not changed under her ownership.
Presently the property includes a homesite and grazing land. The surrounding properties to the 2J
north, south, and west are used for rural residential purposes. East of the existing parcel is an
abandoned railroad easement and vineyard.
At this time there are no immediate plans for development except to subdivide subject parcel.
3.0 IDENTIFICATION OF ALL PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF
CONTAMINATION:
3.1 Methods Used to Research: Methods used to research this parcel were records
researched at the San Joaquin County Agriculture Commissioners office on May 16, 2005 (see
appendix for results). An onsite survey performed on May 11, 2005 by Mike Toy of
Dillon & Murphy. The owner was interviewed on May 11, 2005, by Joe Murphy of
Dillon & Murphy. Research was performed on the subject site as required by County
regulations.
1
C:\0563\surface and subsurface June 2005
