Below is language that we ask County to put in use permits or on the <br /> actual parcel map if a new one is being proposed. Use as much or little of the passage below as <br /> you feel appropriate, and if you talk to the applicant, please ask him to watch out for garter <br /> snakes, especially driving along those roads adjacent to the pond, as the snakes may be basking on <br /> it on a sunny day. If he sees a garter snake, he should contact either this office or the CDFG <br /> Natural Diversity Database. <br /> I have some flash cards that I got from CA Dept. of Pesticide Regulation on T&E species, <br /> including the garter snake. It has great photos and quick info on habitat and what to look for.
