In addition a percolation
test was performed in the area of the proposed leach field. This report presents the results
of our investigation and testing.
FOUNDATION INVESTIGATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
It is proposed to construct a private residence on a 10 acre parcel (APN 007-15-47)
that is immediately behind the house located at 11355 E Jahant Rd., San Joaquin County,
California. An access road has been constructed along the east side of the property but no
other grading has been performed on the property. Proposed construction will be one and
two story wood frame with spread footings and concrete slab-on-grade. Foundation loads
will be light.
The foundation study conducted at this site was prepared for the use of the architect
and structural engineer for application to the design of the residence in accordance with
generally accepted geotechnical engineering practices.
The proposed house location is currently pasture land that has been plowed for weed
control. There was a sparse growth of dry weeds and grasses at the time of our field
investigation. The general topography of the area is relatively flat terrain although there
is a slight slope to the property from west to east.
The field investigation conducted at this site consisted of excavating 3 exploratory test
pits carried to depths of 3.0 to 6.0 feet. The test pits were excavated with a Case 580D
backhoe equipped with a 24 inch bucket. The approximate size of the test pits was 2 feet
by 4 feet. The location of the test pits is shown on the attached Location Map, Plate
Number 1. The location of the test pits was determined by pacing, hence, accuracy can be
implied only to the degree that this method warrants.
